XTRA!

Fun Drum and Dance things Nan has done.

When R. Ring (Kelley Deal + Mike Montgomery) needed a drummer for a U.S. Tour in 2016, they called Nan to see if she’d fill in. “HELL YES!”, she shouted to them, to her friends, and to anyone who would listen. This video captures some of the fun of that tour.

When R.Ring asked Nan to make a video for their song “Cartoon Heart /Build me a question” (featuring her “weird dancing” )she thought about it for 2 seconds and yelled “HELL YES!” She got her One Nite Stand dancers (Tracy Flowers, BreakaDawn, and Anna Bauer) to do some choreo and run around in a Kansas City art space and the whole thing was shot by Bella Cordero + Oz Overshiner (edited by Oz).

UNDERTHRUST

Nan once started a dance troupe called Underthrust with some musician friends in NYC. She choreographed dances mostly to the music of Kimya Dawson. It was a short and thrilling dance journey culminating in shows with Kimya at Webster Hall, Bowery Ballroom and Carnegie Hall (R.E.M. Tribute show).
Members of Underthrust are: Nan, Angela Carlucci, Dan Fishback, Maeve End, Matt Katz, Phoebe Kreutz, and Tina Harris.

TRUE LIONS

Nan Choreographed 2 short dances for True Lion’s video for their song “Escape Room”. They used “sports” metaphors and wore Soccer jerseys which is the closest Nan will get to playing sports.
